New York Knicks All-Decade team (2010-2020)

Updated: Jan 1, 2021

Starting 5

PG: Raymond Felton (2010-11)

Raymond Felton began his first tenure on the Knicks with the best production of his career. He quickly established himself as one of the most effective pick and roll point guards in the NBA when playing alongside Amare Stoudemire. Felton was averaging 17.1 points, 9.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game for the Knicks and narrowly missed out on what would have been the only All Star game selection of his career.

SG: JR Smith (2012-13)

JR Smith averaged a career-high 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds en route to earning the NBA’s 6th man of the year award in the 2012-13 season. He was an instrumental part of a 54 win team and became a legit number 2 scoring threat to Carmelo Anthony.

SF: Carmelo Anthony (2012-13)

Carmelo was dominant in the 2012-13 season. He ended up as the NBA’s leading scorer and finished 3rd in MVP voting for the most prolific Knicks team in years. This was arguably the best season of the future hall of famers career.

PF: Amare Stoudemire (2010-11)

Amare was a force in his first season with the Knicks. He started to bring the Knicks back to basketball relevancy after a 6 year playoff hiatus. At one point in the season he set the Knicks franchise record with 9 straight games scoring 30 or more points. His numbers declined a bit when the Knicks made the Carmelo Anthony trade, but he still made All NBA 2nd team while helping lead the Knicks to their first playoff berth in 6 seasons.

C: Kristaps Porzingis (2017)

Kristaps Porzingis got off to a blazing start to the 2017-18 NBA season. He was a prolific scorer and was one of the best shot blockers in basketball averaging 2.5 per game. He set the Knicks record for most points through the first 10 games of a season with 300 points. He was named to his first ever NBA All Star game, and looked like a true franchise player before tearing his ACL in February of 2018. Porzingis ended up being traded to Dallas before ever playing another game for the Knicks.

Honorable mentions:

Tyson Chandler (2012-13)

Tyson Chandler was the defensive anchor for the 54 win Knicks team in 2012-13. Tyson Chandler was Defensive Player of the Year for the 2011-12 season and made his first ever All Star game and All-NBA team the following season.

Jeremy Lin (2011-12)

Jeremy Lin makes the team due to his historic 13 game stretch in 2013. On February 4th, 2012 against the Nets, Jeremy Lin came in to score 25 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds after spending the first half of the season on the end of the bench. This game started off a magical stretch for Lin and the Knicks, winning 10 out the next 13 games while Lin averaged 23 points and 9 assists per game. Unfortunately a knee injury after the all star break cut his magical season short. He ended signing with the Rockets that offseason and never played with the Knicks again.

Wilson Chandler (2010-11)

Wilson Chandler was playing the best basketball of his career prior to getting moved in the Carmelo Anthony trade. He averaged 16 points and 6 rebounds per game while consistently guarding the best player on opposing teams.
